As a Master Technician at Heritage you will...

  • Perform service and advanced diagnostic repair work  in accordance with established procedures, as well as conducting routine service work.
  • Maintain the highest standards of workmanship in line with the latest technical guidance and evolving technical practice.
  • Assist the Workshop Controller in scheduling and prioritising work, advising on service work requirements that affect service prioritisation and supervising the completion of jobs to ensure that the highest standards of workmanship are achieved.
  • Assume a leading position within the workshop and advise on work priorities.
  • Act as guide and mentor to junior level technicians, providing them with technical advice on work where required and assist the Workshop Controller with the induction of new staff.
  • Safeguard and protect the customer’s vehicle and its contents while being repaired or serviced.
  • Ensure vehicles comply with brand and industry safety standard when returned to customer.
  • Ensure all health and safety, environmental recycling policies, plus all internal policies and procedures are adhered to, focusing on customer needs and building upon the professional reputation of the retail facility.
  • Check the condition and ensure the correct maintenance of tools, equipment and other materials in accordance with company policy.
  • Follow safe working practices and be proactive in suggesting possible improvements.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to use technical vehicle repair and diagnostic software tools
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • The ability to motivate and coach a team to achieve demanding targets.
  • Good level of technical knowledge.
  • Naturally self-confident as well as empathetic with team members.
  • Computer literate with good Microsoft office knowledge.
  • Customer service focussed


  • City and Guilds Part 3 / BTEC equivalent or higher
  • NVQ, Level 3, Motor Vehicle
  • HNC / HND desirable


  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience working for a prestigious motor brand
  • Proven track record in vehicle repair and servicing
  • Proven technical ability at a level commensurate with that for selection to the Master Technician course
  • Current driving license
